Marianna Kutzner Lee, 89, cherished mother and grandmother | Williamsburg Yorktown Daily

WILLIAMSBURG Marianna Kutzner Lee, 89, cherished mother and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021. A longtime resident of Williamsburg, Marianna was born Jan. 11, 1932. It was her aspiration in life to be there for those who needed her the most, and she was the first person to lend a helping hand. She was truly selfless and made sure all who were around her were taken care of. Marianna was a valuable employee of the City of Williamsburg and retired after 30 years of dedicated service. She was called “Grandma” by many, including local establishments who grew to love her as well. Marianna was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Lee; son, Billy Newman; daughter, Kay Nordeman; and eight siblings.

Caltrans adds firepower to deal with avalanches near Carson Pass

  SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. Caltrans is adding some firepower in efforts to control avalanches near Carson Pass. The Caltrans District 10 Caples Lake crew has been installing powerful LoCat guns adjacent California State Route 88 and will use them to mitigate potential avalanches in an avalanche zone. Caltrans crews are installing avalanche guns near Carson Pass. Provided / William Newman “We had the LoCat cannons serviced earlier this year and we’re re-mounting them along SR-88 for this season,” Caples Lake Maintenance Supervisor Billy Newman said in a press release. “These cannons are so heavy that we need to fly them to the remote, elevated platforms.”
