The 2021 Montana Mile, sponsored by Samâs Club, marks the 30th running for men and the 20th for women. The race is one of the most anticipated events of the Big Sky State Games Opening Ceremonies and is scheduled to take place (approximately) between 7:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. on Friday, July 16. The Montana Mile is an invited race featuring some of the stateâs fastest high school, college, and post-collegiate milers.
The Womenâs Montana Mile record is 4:53.9 set in 2011 by Lois Ricardi Keller. Patrick Casey set the Menâs record in 2010 in 4:07.9.

BILLINGS â While washing cars at an annual graduation party fund raiser in Billings Saturday, senior students from two Billings high schools said finishing high school during the COVID-19 pandemic was difficult and different, but yielded its own unique lessons.
âAs a school and a community, weâve all really worked hard to try and make it the best it could be, especially these parents, said Savanna Cronk, a senior at Senior High School with plans to attend Montana State University in the fall.

After two Billings schools lost four teenagers in two separate car crashes that left two young survivors within the past month, their rival school is urging the whole community to rally in support.
This week, students at Billings Skyview High School are asking the entire community to don the school colors of Billings Senior and Billings West as a show of support for students, teachers, staff, family, friends trying to cope.
