Cleave Farm A former dairy farm in East Devon has come to market for the first time in 100 years. Cleave Farm in Wilmington, near Honiton offers the opportunity for further farming or for significant development and diversification. It is a hidden gem that has been farmed by the same family since 1890 and the family bought it from the Marquess of Northampton in 1920. The Grade II listed six-bedroom house dates from the 16th century and has later modifications and additions. It retains many character features and provides tremendous opportunity for a purchaser to modernise and incorporate adjoining stone outbuildings subject to planning consents.

Once the main entrance to Taunton from Exeter in the middle ages, the quaint and narrow Bath Place offers a number of independent shops and cafés for the visitor to enjoy. The street features on Taunton s heritage trail. Brendan Books, Bath Place Music and Ginger Fig all call this pretty street home.

Martin King has lived in West Bagborough all his life and he understands why people want to make the village their home
‘This is the most beautiful place you can dream of,’ says Martin.
Tucked on the western edge of the Quantock Hills and with far-reaching views across the vale of Taunton Deane to the Blackdown Hills, this rural village is only 20 minutes from Taunton. Although many residents commute from home, it still retains a strong sense of community. This is a friendly and kind village, says Martin. At one time, many villagers worked at nearby Triscombe quarry. ‘As a boy, my grandfather used to take a horse and cart to the quarry to get stone for the village roads,’ Martin continues.
And in one election, a teenager is hoping to become the country s youngest councillor. Standing in his way in the Trull, Pitminster and Corfe by-election for a seat on Somerset West and Taunton Council will be a councillor of many years experience and the only candidate local to the patch. Among those hoping to attract your vote for the vacancy left by the resignation in February of Liberal Democrat councillor Martin Hill will be the 18-year-old chairman of the Labour party in Taunton Deane. Samuel Booker, a previous president of the student union at Exeter University, was just 17 when he took up the post in the local Labour party.
