NHS hospitals across Lancashire record 16 more Covid deaths on New Year s Day Another 16 people have lost their lives due to the coronavirus at hospitals across Lancashire.  New data published on New Year s Day showed that in the last 24 hours the East Lancashire Hospital Trust’s death toll rose by six to 644. In Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, four more people died with Covid-19, taking the total there to 553, while four more deaths were registered at facilities managed by the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, meaning since the start of the pandemic, 514 people have died with the virus. No Covid-realted deaths were registered in Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals Trust but two more were recorded in Morecambe s hospitals.

In Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, nine more people died with Covid-19, taking the total there to 549, while two more deaths were registered at facilities managed by the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, meaning since the start of the pandemic, 510 people have died with the virus. Three more Covid-realted deaths were registered in Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals Trust and one more in Morecambe s hospitals.

In the latest figures from the government s coronavirus dashboard, released on Wednesday afternoon, another 256 people are reported to have tested positive for the virus since Tuesday. Blackburn with Darwen has recorded another 115 positive tests in the last 24 hours taking the total number to 10,972 since the pandemic began. In Burnley a further 101 people tested positive for the virus, with the borough s total now standing at 5,647. While in Pendle 5,707 people have tested positive since March, an increase of 101 since Tuesday.

In the latest figures from the government s coronavirus dashboard, released on Tuesday afternoon, another 256 people are reported to have tested positive for the virus since Monday. Blackburn with Darwen has recorded another 68 positive tests in the last 24 hours taking the total number to 10,857 since the pandemic began. In Burnley a further 58 people tested positive for the virus, with the borough s total now standing at 5,546 While in Pendle 5,606 people have tested positive since March, an increase of 48 since Monday.
