With the passing of Brenda Quade, our community has lost a great friend, a dynamic prosecutor, and a fierce advocate for victims of crime.
For more than 18 years, Brenda sought justice each day as an assistant state’s attorney in Winnebago County. Brenda’s work ethic was unparalleled in the office. During her tenure, she prosecuted juvenile, gang, gun, arson and domestic violence cases. Further, she was a leader within the office, serving as supervisor of the misdemeanor, domestic violence and juvenile units.
In 2019, Brenda was promoted to deputy state’s attorney. Brenda used her legal talents outside of the courtroom as well. She trained Court Appointed Special Advocates, presented for the citizen’s police academy, and advised the Blackhawk Area Boy Scouts. She was also a valued player in the annual “Legal Follies” event.
