United Way hosts drive-thru food distribution for Flint area households on MLK Day

GENESEE COUNTY, MI As cars began to line up outside the Flint Cultural Center Academy, volunteers finished packing food into bags for local families.
Hosted by the United Way in partnership with the Flint National Service Accelerator and the Flint Community Education Initiative, a drive-thru food distribution was held Monday, Jan. 18 on Martin Luther King Jr. Day as part of the National Day of Service.
The giveaway was located at two locations in Flint the Flint Cultural Center Academy and Flint Southwestern Classical Academy and included food such as fresh fruits, meats, milk, and cereals as well as community resources for residents and books by local artists.
