JAMMU: Troops of the Border Security Force recovered on Friday a cache of arms and ammunition dropped by a Pakistani drone along the international border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district. On specific information regarding dropping of arms and ammunition by a drone in the Samba border area, BSF troops carried out a search operation in Samba sector on Friday morning, the spokesperson for BSF Jammu Frontier said.
At about 11.30 am, BSF troops recovered an item wrapped in yellow polythene from a field. One AK-47 assault rifle, one pistol, one magazine, 15 rounds for a 9 mm weapon, one wooden frame (used to attach the payload to the drone) and wrapping material was recovered approximately 250 metres inside Indian territory.

In a statement BSF stated, “On 21st February, ambush-cum-patrolling party of border outpost Putiabaramasia of 100 BN under Frontier Headquarter BSF Guwahati, which comes under Police station Sitalkuchi, District Coochbehar (West-Bengal) noticed suspicious movement of 20-25 miscreants from Bangladesh side and 18-20 miscreants on India side along with cattle heads moving towards Indo- Bangladesh Border Fence.”
