As you know, I close each article with a tagline saying that I love to hear from my readers, and it is true, though I average only about three emails a month.
Recently, a reader wrote and called me “wise and talented” and said that she could tell from the headline which articles belonged to me.
Over 30 years ago, after working months producing one of my all-time favorite career projects, I felt really shorted when it came to being thanked.
Fred Cannizarro and I had produced an audiovisual program for the 75th anniversary of the National Park Service. It was for a symposium in Vail, Colorado, for a huge gathering of NPS leaders to create a vision for the agency s future success.
TUPELO ⢠Peter Katerâs name may not be recognized by the average music fan. But for those who enjoy contemporary piano instrumentals, Kater is well known.
Kater is a two-time Grammy Award winner and 14-time nominee for Best New Age Album. Heâs sold millions or records and composed music for more than 100 television, film and theater productions. His works have been featured on Summer Olympic broadcasts and heâs been honored by the United Nations.
While the accolades have brought Kater fame, he remains a person who simply loves getting on stage and performing for an audience. Heâll do that Friday night in Tupelo as the April performer for the Link Centreâs Monthly Music Mix concert series.

(5 out of 5 stars) I have just returned home from seeing Peter Kater and Nawang Khechog perform at Carnegie Hall on behalf of the Tibet House Benefit Concert in this Year of the Earth Hare. I was mesmerized by the beauty of Kater s New Age-y keyboards combined with the lyrical and moving Tibetan Long Horn of Khechog- a truly unusual and unique pairing!I feel fortunate to have had my eyes opened to this duo and look forward to hearing The Dance of The Innocents for many years to come.I also wish Nawang well as he continues in his pursuit of teaching the world about the plight of his people- how lucky the Tibetans are to have such a talented and deeply spiritual artist pulling for them (and how lucky we are, too).
