Media bluster diverts attention from truth of Australia s energy target efforts22/04/2021|4min
Media reports depicting Australia as laggards for not meeting international approval on boosting its energy targets is media bluster which diverts from the quiet reality of Australia s efforts, according to Psychiatrist Dr Tanveer Ahmed. You get so much bluster, he told Sky News host Peter Gleeson I think the prime minister is right - arguably Australia is one of the few countries that actually meets its targets. But we re continuously kind of painted as this laggard, but meanwhile we often quietly meet our targets. I think a lot of reporters locally love to sort of talk about international disapproval - whether it s refugees or climate - meanwhile it rarely actually takes any concrete forms I think it s often a bit of show.
