TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Pima County Department of Environmental Quality (PDEQ) is holding a virtual Open House on March 9, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and a virtual formal Public Hearing on March 16, 2021, from 5:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m.
The purpose of these meetings is to share information and obtain public comments on the proposed El Paso Natural Gas, LLC (EPNG) piping modification project located at 1200 South Rita Road, Tucson Arizona 85747. Written comments regarding this project will be accepted by PDEQ during the official Public Comment Period which begins on February 10, 2021 and runs through March 29, 2021.
The Pima County Department of Transportation closed Madera Canyon Road at Box Canyon on Monday and said it would likely remain closed through Saturday.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A water-line construction project near Tucson Estates will take longer than expected to complete after this week’s winter storm.
Because of the inclement weather conditions, the Pima County Department of Transportation has extended water-line work on Sarasota Boulevard starting at Kinney Road on the Bopp Road: Sarasota Boulevard at Kinney Road Improvement Project. Completion date will be in late February.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) -COVID-19 has taken the lives of more than 11,000 Arizonans, many just in the last two months. This is creating a heavy back log in the funeral home and cremations industries, but also at the Medical Examinerâs office.
The Pima County Medical Examinerâs office started was used as extra storage space for remains back in the summer of 2020. Normally, the medical examinerâs office would not be used to hold overflow from hospitals. In six months, the office said they housed about 50 extra remains that hospitals or funeral homes could not hold due to storage capacity limits. Over the holidays, that
