Police: Aliquippa man in custody after keeping woman, two children hostage in police standoff
ALIQUIPPA –– A city man is in custody after a domestic disturbance turned into a standoff with police.
Raphel Johnson, 36, faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest, after Aliquippa police said he refused to comply with officers and kept a woman and two children barricaded in his 111 Major St. home for several hours.
Aliquippa officers received a call from the Beaver County Crisis Center around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, describing a domestic disturbance.
When officers arrived at the home, they knocked on the door and were met with a get the (expletive) out of here, by a male voice, later to be identified as Johnson, according to a police report.
