CHICAGO, Jan 22 (Reuters) - Chicago soybean futures slid
about 3% on Friday and corn futures briefly fell their daily
limit as rains in key South American growing areas assuaged
worries about global supply, overshadowing strong weekly U.S.
export data.
Wheat futures tumbled nearly 4%.
The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) most-active soybean
contract was down 43 cents to $13.27-1/4 per bushel by
12:32 p.m. (1832 GMT), after dipping more than 4% to $13.12, the
biggest drop for a most-active contract since Aug. 10, 2018.
Corn was down 20-1/2 cents at $5.03-3/4 per bushel

CHICAGO, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Chicago Board of Trade soybean
futures ended higher on Thursday as fresh export sales offered
support to the market after three days of corrections lower. CBOT s most-active soybean contract added 3/4 cent
to 13.70-1/4 per bushel, after climbing 18 cents in earlier
trading. CBOT March soymeal lost $4.20 to $438.20 per short ton,
while CBOT March soybean oil added 0.89 cent to $43.43 cents per
pound. The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported private sales
of 136,000 tonnes of U.S. soybeans to China and 163,290 tonnes
to Mexico, both for shipment in the 2020/21 season. Argentine soy planting sped forward over the last week,

BUENOS AIRES, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Argentine soy and corn
planting sped forward over the last week, helped by rain that
moistened fields parched by months of dry weather, the Buenos
Aires Grains Exchange said on Thursday.
More moisture was needed over the short term to ensure good
yields for the 2020/21 crop, the exchange said in a report.
Some 98.6% of this season s soy, and 93.4% of corn is
planted, the exchange said in the report. The showers over the
last week were centered in the northern and eastern farm belt. Rainfall during the last seven days improved the water
