The Punxsutawney Area Hospital will hold a Phase 1a COVID-19 Vaccine Event Feb. 20th at the Punxsutawney Area High School.
The Vaccine Program is operating on a first come, first serve basis. No reservations are being accepted and there is no wait list.
Katie Donald, Public Relations Specialist at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital talks about the specifics of the clinic.
The facility will open at 8:30 am, parking will be in the main lots of the school, and individuals are to enter through the auditorium. Individuals who are 65 and older are invited to come between 9:00 am and noon and other eligible individuals enter Phase 1a are invited to come from noon to 4 pm.

All Punxsutawney Fire Departments were called out when a truck hit a Punxsutawney Area School District bus near the intersection of Route 119 and Rikers Road just after 7 am Thursday.
According to the Punxsy Spirit, the truck was traveling north on Route119 when it stuck the bus that was pulling out of the terminal onto 119.
Firefighters and State Police were assisted at the scene by Jefferson County EMS which took the driver of the truck to Punxsutawney Area Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

A 40-year-old Smicksburg man is facing multiple charges after a traffic stop in Punxsutawney Monday.
State Police say they stopped the vehicle on West Mahoning street just before 8 pm after observing traffic violations. The man showed signs of impairment and officers conducted a field sobriety test which lead to a DUI arrest. Officers say an 8-year-old child was a passenger in the vehicle.
Criminal charges are pending.
State Police are investigating a burglary that occurred sometime between Jan. 6 and Jan. 8 on Paradise Road in Henderson Township of Jefferson County.
Officers say someone entered a 48-year-old Stump Creek man’s garage and took more than 150 pounds of copper wire and a metal barrel before fleeing the scene.
