YR-MXA landed at 12:30 local time after a flight from Boeing Field (BFI) and a layover in Reykjavik (KEF). The airline will receive another aircraft, YR-MXB in the following months.

Boeing assembled the plane 1.5 years ago and it completed its first flight on October 12, 2019. It wears two CFM LEAP engines and has 189 seats in Economy class. The configuration is the same as on the Boeing 737-800, so 0B has better flexibility in using the aircraft.

MIAMI – In a press release today, Austrian Airlines (OS) states that the coronavirus crisis and a three-month standstill of flight operations have pushed its annual financial results deep into the red. OS reported a loss of €319m (US$371m) in 2020.
This contrasts with the adjusted profit of €19m (US$23m) the airline generated in 2019. Austrian endured a pandemic-related 79% decrease in the number of passengers flying. This translated to 3.1 million passengers which abruptly halted the steep growth of passenger volume the airline had enjoyed prior to the pandemic.

Airways was present at Debrecen Airport (DEB) where an Ilyushin IL-62 landed, resuming cargo traffic at the airport. Rada Airlines’ (RDA) IL-62 landed at DEB, following a flight from Dubai Al Maktoum (DWC) carrying automotive parts.
Debrecen Airport is located just 5 kilometres from the center of Hungary’s second-largest city. In addition to Debrecen, it serves Oradea and Satu Mare in Romania and Nyíregyháza in Hungary. According to

After its opening in 1930, DEB handled mail and domestic traffic. Following World War II, Soviet forces used DEB as an airbase until the end of socialism in 1990. In the early 2000s, the city started improving at the airport. DEB saw mostly charter traffic in addition to short-lived scheduled services.
MIAMI – Austrian Airlines (OS) has sent its youngest long-haul Boeing 777-200ER aircraft to Teruel Airport (TEV), in Spain.
One of the six -200ER from the airline was sent to Longterm Storage in TEV, on Monday January 25. ‘Spirit of Austria’, with registration OE-LPD, was built in 2007. After its 14 year run, the type is to be stored there for the next 12 months.

Teruel’s dry climate is best for the long-term storage of the “Spirit of Austria”, according to the airline. TEV is located at approximately 1000 meters above sea level, in Aragon. Aircraft that will no longer take off are also stored there. In addition, recycling of jets that are no longer in use takes place at TEV.
