A New Orleans-based entrepreneur is launching a charter air connection between Nashville and Alabamaâs Gulf Coast, promising a way to avoid traffic backups in that area.
Southeast Beach Express is the brainchild of Jay Taffet, a former U.S. Air Force pilot who specializes in early-stage venture development as well as aviation businesses. The new project from his Gracen Jules firm is slated to begin flying from John C. Tune Airport June 3 and is pricing its round trips at $690.

GIFTED Healthcare acquires Florida-based staffing firm
New Orleans-based GIFTED Healthcare has acquired Therapia Staffing, a Coral Gables, Florida-based health care staffing agency that offers per diem and travel nursing assignments across the U.S.
The acquisition makes GIFTED one of the largest health care staffing companies in the nation, a news release said. Combining the companies allows GIFTED to provide its clinicians with a broader selection of clinical opportunities and a new selection of specialties, including school-based nursing, school-based therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
