New Orleans shootings leave 1 teen dead, another wounded

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Two teenagers have been shot multiple times in New Orleans, police said.
A 16-year-old boy died at the scene, and a 15-year-old boy was hospitalized with critical injuries.
Police said in a news release that the shootings happened about 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Forum Boulevard and Duane Road. That is in the Little Woods neighborhood in the eastern part of the city.
The 15-year-old ran from the scene of the shooting, and emergency workers picked him up a few blocks away. He remained hospitalized Monday, police said.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - The New Orleans Police Dept. is investigating an officer-involved shooting in New Orleans East in the Plum Orchard neighborhood.
The NOPD says around 9:30 a.m. an officer noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the 4300 block of Werner Drive.
Two black males were seated inside. The passenger got out and began struggling with the officer.
That’s when the NOPD says the officer’s weapon discharged.
The driver fled the scene.
The man who was shot was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.
A person entered a gun store and shooting range in a New Orleans suburb and fatally shot two people Saturday, prompting customers and staff to open fire on the shooter, a sheriff said.
