Los Angeles Lakers star and newest member of the Boston Red Sox, LeBron James, can’t stop making history – whether it’s on the hardwood, the diamond, or in his investment portfolio.
A fifth NBA championship would mark a major step forward in James’ chase of Michael Jordan in the basketball GOAT discussion. But he can’t obtain that until the summer. In the meantime, the Lakers superstar is following Jordan’s footsteps into the sports ownership department. And, like MJ, James is breaking down barriers in his pursuit.
The Globe also revealed that FSG which owns and operates the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool F.C., and has grand ambitions to invest in sports franchises and enterprises around the globe approved a $750 million investment from RedBird Capital that will skyrocket the company’s value. The deal will infuse FSG with billions of dollars worth of capital to expand its business, with James spearheading the branding efforts.

Ohza Heads South with Launch of Distribution in Georgia

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Ohza, one of the fastest-growing ready-to-drink cocktail companies, has partnered with Savannah Distributing Co. Inc. to expand its distribution footprint to the state of Georgia, the first official southern location for the New England-based brand. The expansion follows Ohza’s retail success in the Northeast as well as direct-to-consumer across the country.
“We’ve had continuous calls for Ohza to come to Georgia retailers and bars, so we are excited to finally launch in the area,” says Ohza Founder, Ryan Ayotte. “We have a significant presence throughout much of the East Coast so broadening those roots as we move south will be really exciting for consumers here.”

North Country co-founder Silas Gordon said their candidacy represents a sweet and unexpected recognition. He also said it represents a validating honor no matter the results of the vote because their small-town, small-operation business is nominated alongside some major players in the craft cider world.
“For us, the entire team here works incredibly hard and our process is not the normal process, so it is a bit slower, a bit harder, a bit more variable than kind of what the normal cidermaking process is,” said Gordon. “So it’s always nice to have some recognition any way that it comes. We have open arms.”
