Sydney traffic: Long traffic queues for returning holidaymakers

Advertisement Sydneysiders returning from their Easter holiday faced long delays as they tried to return to the city on Monday afternoon, with motorists urged to allow extra travel time. In the Blue Mountains, eastbound traffic is heavy from Hartley to Blackheath on the Great Western Highway due to an earlier medical emergency at Mount Victoria, adding at least 40 minutes extra travel time. The indefinite closure of Bells Line of Road due to landslide damage means the Great Western Highway is the only route through the Blue Mountains.
