Police are asking for the public’s help, after a man’s body was found in the New England region. Just before midday yesterday, officers were called to a rest area near Goonoo Goonoo Station on the New England Highway, after reports of a concern for welfare. When they arrived, police found the body a man who is yet to be formally identified, but is believed to be inside a campervan parked at the location. Several drawers in the van were open, and a generator previously been seen at the site was missing. Detectives have started an investigation into the incident, to determine whether the man’s death will be treated as suspicious.

At the last council meeting of the year in 2020, councillors voted to support option two in the draft master plan and feasibility study.
