A man is dead after police said he was shot Friday afternoon following a “disturbance” at New Bridge Apartments on the north side.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded about 4 p.m. to a person shot. A man with gunshot wounds was found outside, behind an apartment in the 2400 block of Beckwith Drive.
Emergency medical services pronounced him dead.
IMPD Officer Genae Cook said investigators believe the shooting happened after “some type of disturbance.” The shooter, who police believed to be a man, left the scene.
Investigators are still determining whether the shooter ran or left in a car, Cook said.
