U.S Rep. Kathy Castor will join CEOs from DSM, Hannon Armstrong, JLL, PSEG, Siemens, and others for a virtual roundtable ahead of LEAD on Climate 2021 to discuss growing business and investor support for ambitious climate solutions to build a more resilient, equitable and inclusive net-zero emissions future. Influential CEOs and other representatives from more than 60 businesses in the U.S. including
Amazon, Best Buy, DSM North America, Danone North America, Dow Inc., JLL, Levi Strauss and Co., McDonald’s, New Belgium Brewing, PepsiCo, PSEG, Siemens and Uber, as well institutional investors, will come together on Wednesday, May 12, for a lawmaker education and advocacy day for climate action. They will call on the Biden administration and members of the U.S. House and Senate on both sides of the aisle to support a strong infrastructure package that will help mitigate the climate crisis and advance environmental justice.
There will be classic Mooby s menu items along with vegan alternatives, and New Belgium Brewing has crafted a Mooby s brew for the occasion. Guests can either take their food to go or eat indoors or outdoors at Globe Hall.
While waiting on their food, fans can snap selfies in the world of Kevin Smith, peruse goods in Silent Bob s Secret Stash Merch pop-up shop, and buy Jay and Silent Bob merch, including something distinctly not ’90s: COVID-19 non-medical masks.
Gwen Campbell, co-owner of Globe Hall, says that the concept proved successful at Austin and St. Louis pop-ups, and that her Denver venue is looking forward to hosting the experience.
For the Record
I was walking with a friend on the recpath in Silverthorne when we came upon the backside of The Pad
. That’s the new concept boutique hotel/hostel. I checked out the back patio and its view of the Blue River. It won’t be long now.
The project has been years in the making and a great example of making lemonade out of lemons. If the Dillon Town Council had more creative vision, this fabulous new gathering place would have been in Dillon. That’s where Pad owner Lynne Parrish Baer first bought property.
Dillon didn’t think it was a good fit. So a new site had to be found. Now that I see this sublime spot on the river, all I can think is Lynne and Rob Baer make the best lemonade ever!

While stating unequivocally that “we’re all safer at home” this Cinco de Mayo during the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, a local nonprofit organization today announced that as a “necessary safety net” to next month’s high-risk, high-alcohol consumption period free safe rides will be offered to would-be drunk drivers throughout the Washington-metropolitan area on Cinco de Mayo (May 5th).
Offered by the nonprofit Washington Regional Alcohol Program (WRAP), the 2021 Cinco de Mayo SoberRide® program will be in operation beginning at 4:00 pm this Wednesday, May 5, 2021 (Cinco de Mayo) and operate until 2:00 am on Thursday, May 6, 2021 as a way to keep local roads safe from impaired drivers during this traditionally high-risk holiday.
