Investigation continues after $3000 worth of cigarettes stolen from gas station

Mike Watson13:24, Jul 23 2021 Robert Charles/Stuff Police are investigating the robbery of cigarettes and tobacco worth $3000 from a Bell Block service station. Police are continuing to investigate the robbery of a Taranaki service station in which $3000 worth of cigarettes and tobacco was stolen. Allied Motors Bell Block owner Paul Snowdon​ said CCTV footage inside the store showed three offenders threatening an elderly shop assistant with a hammer when they came into the premises around 8am on Saturday July 17. The offenders, wearing face masks, pushed the assistant into the back room before breaking open the cigarette dispensary and taking $3000 worth of cigarettes and tobacco, Snowdon said.
