Police are continuing to investigate the robbery of a Taranaki service station in which $3000 worth of cigarettes and tobacco was stolen. Allied Motors Bell Block owner Paul Snowdon said CCTV footage inside the store showed three offenders threatening an elderly shop assistant with a hammer when they came into the premises around 8am on Saturday July 17. The offenders, wearing face masks, pushed the assistant into the back room before breaking open the cigarette dispensary and taking $3000 worth of cigarettes and tobacco, Snowdon said.
