âSo many kids go without Christmas, Easter. My kids are blessed and they donât go without and you just want to help other peopleâs kids who may not be receiving it,â said Thomson.
Pocomoke community surprises well-known bishop for his birthday
January 9, 2021
POCOMOKE, Md.- Friends and family came from far and wide to Pocomoke Saturday afternoon to wish Bishop Isaac Jenkins Senior a happy 90th birthday.
“We’re just so happy that god has given us this day to celebrate him, 90 years that’s a blessing,” Gloria Broady, Jenkins’ daughter, said.
Jenkins’ daughters wanted to honor their dad with a party, but COVID-19 changed their plans into a birthday car parade.
They say it is well deserved as he’s been giving back to the community since coming to Pocomoke in 1960.
He was a bishop for 57 years and ran a program that helped troubled youth.
