GREENPORT â Following a four-month investigation, a Greenport man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly possessing child pornography, said Aaron Hicks, public information officer for State Police Troop K.
Patrick J. OâLeary, 43 , was charged by state police with five counts of possession of a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony, Hicks said. A search warrant was executed Wednesday at OâLearyâs residence, where he was found to be in possession of child pornography, Hicks said.
OâLeary was given appearance tickets for Greenport Town Court on Jan. 11. The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information regarding OâLeary is asked to contact the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Livingston at (845) 677-7300. Please reference case -10001693.

• On Dec. 4, ECO Eyler questioned a hunter about details of a buck he had posted on a social media site. The hunter reported that the deer was harvested in Connecticut, just over the state border, and brought the ECO to the deer hanging in his brother’s shed about a mile way. The deer was hanging in the shed, replete with a Connecticut deer tag and half gutted. ECO Eyler informed the hunter of DEC’s chronic wasting disease regulations that prohibit the transportation of white-tailed deer in this condition to New York State. The ECO gave the hunter a summons and took the deer to be incinerated.
A generator was reportedly stolen from a residence.
On Tuesday December 22, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks said they are investigating a report of a stolen generator from a residence, according to officials.
The generator was allegedly taken from a residence on Montfort Road in the town of Wappinger on Wednesday December 16. The generator that was stolen was a Honda EB 6500 portable generator, with an auto start feature and dual batteries, according to police. It was allegedly purchased in 2014 and at the time it was estimated to be worth over $2,000 in value.

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks began investigating a report of a stolen generator from a residence on Montfort Road in the town of Wappinger on December 16, 2020.
The generator reported stolen is a Honda EB 6500 Portable generator with an auto start and dual batteries. It was purchased in 2014 and was at that time worth approximately $2,900. The photograph provided is a similar type and not the actual item stolen.

Forest rangers with the state Department of Environmental Conservation responded to three search-and-rescue missions in the past week for lost people in the Adirondack wilderness. Two were found cold but alive, but one hunter was found dead near the southern Adirondack boundary.
Hunter didnât make it
On Friday, Dec. 4, at 9 p.m., DECâs Ray Brook dispatch received a call from a member of a hunting camp in the Sander Road area of the Fulton County town of Bleecker, advising that a 45-year-old hunter from Scotia was overdue from an afternoon hunt.
Forest Rangers Ian Kerr and Gary Miller responded to investigate and search the area. The rangers searched throughout the night and located tracks and personal items left by the hunter, but could not locate the subject.
