Torrington Woman Arrested, Hindering Fatal Accident Investigation

The Torrington Police Department has announced that they have made an additional arrest and filed charges against a female city resident after she allegedly hindered their investigation into a horrible accident that occurred on New Litchfield Street in August 2020, in which two cars that had been racing, crashed, and that accident took the life of 47 year old Watertown resident Sean Ryan. According to a press release from the Torrington Police Department, Amber Sans, 23, of Avenue A in Torrington was placed under arrest yesterday, March 11 and charged with lying about her involvement with the suspect during the investigation of fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred last year.

Rolando Vilorio, 24, is charged with first-degree manslaughter, first-degree assault, evading responsibility, reckless driving, interfering with police, failure to drive right and improper passing, according to the police report. Police said Vilorio’s arrest was the result of a lengthy investigation stemming from a crash Aug. 27 on New Litchfield Street/Route 202 and Hassig Road. Investigators allege Vilorio was racing on New Litchfield Street with another vehicle, driving in excess of 100 mph, when he struck a third vehicle driven by Sean Ryan, 47, police said.
