A nurse at an assisted living facility in New Hampshire is accused of abusing a patient.
Nancy Waller, 65, of New Boston, was arrested Thursday on charges of abuse of a facility patient, second-degree assault and simple assault, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General s Office. Download our mobile app for iOS or Android to get alerts for local breaking news and weather.
Waller, a registered nurse, is accused of breaking the fingers of a resident at Rose Meadow Farm in New Boston on Dec. 23. She was prying the victim s fingers off of a call bell used to request assistance, prosecutors alleged.

A New Hampshire nurse allegedly broke a resident’s fingers at an assisted living facility, and now is facing multiple related charges.
Nancy A. Waller, 35, of New Boston, is being charged with two counts of abuse of a facility patient, and one count each of second-degree assault, and simple assault, according to the New Hampshire Attorney General in a press release.
Waller is a registered at Rose Meadow Farm, located in New Boston, according to authorities. Back on Dec. 23, Waller allegedly “broke a resident’s fingers as she was prying them off the resident’s call bell.”
“The charges further allege that Ms. Waller then prevented the resident from being examined by outside medical professionals,” the release said.

CONCORD, NH A man who would have been brought up on a murder charge, accused of shooting his wife, when released from a Boston hospital due to burns he received in a fire, has died.
Manoel Viana, 57, died on Thursday, according to Kate Giaquinto, the director of communications for the New Hampshire Attorney General s Office, due to injuries he received on Sunday on Mt. Pleasant Street in Derry, after his house caught on fire. His cause of death is pending after an autopsy on Friday.
Governor to get vaccinated Saturday in Loudon Update: Friday, April 8, 1:49 p.m.
Gov. Chris Sununu is due to receive his COVID-19 vaccination Saturday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon.
The speedway this weekend is serving again as a mass vaccination site for the state. It is by appointment only.
Health and Human Services Commissioner Lori Shibinette and Dr. Beth Daly, chief of the Bureau of Infectious Disease Control, are also scheduled to receive their vaccination shots Saturday at approximately noon.

The “vast majority” of staff from the Laconia and Franklin hospitals will be staying on after Concord Hospital takes over.
Concord Hospital said this week that 100 physicians and advanced providers have joined the two hospitals that are part of LRGHealthcare, which will be renamed Concord Hospital-Laconia and Concord Hospital-Franklin if the proposed acquisition goes through.
“Additionally, 1,070 employment offers have been extended to LRGHealthcare employees to work for Concord Hospital-Laconia and Concord Hospital-Franklin. This constitutes the vast majority of LRGHealthcare’s staff,” Concord Hospital’s statement said.
