Glendale, California (YouTube) All in, the demand response programs are designed to deliver up to 10 MW of controllable demand by 2024, said Greg Wassel, Franklin Energy Product Manager. We are excited to implement this overarching load control program that will allow Glendale Water & Power to effectively add distributed energy resources and more customers in the future.
Through the Peak Savings demand response program, Glendale Water & Power will adjust the temperature of participating residential customers thermostats on peak days to help reduce electrical demand. Residential customers may participate by using their existing smart thermostats with a $50 incentive to join the program, or by purchasing a new smart thermostat with a $100 discount through the program marketplace. Business customers with a demand of 50 kW or greater are also eligible to participate and will receive a complimentary site assessment to help identify load reduction strategies.
Tuesday, 09 March 2021 The world will move from global electricity generation of 24,219 TWh to a little over double this figure at 53,153 TWh per annum by 2050, with the largest gains in China, and will manage to shift dramatically from the coal and gas based generation of today, to one where renewables – mostly solar and wind – are dominant. These are the conclusions of a new report just out entitled “Look Back in Anger,” from Rethink Energy, which builds a 2050 energy model with almost zero emissions, and then looks back at the hurdles which were thrown up to prevent us getting there.

CeraPhi intends to develop ‘game changing’ geothermal energy solutions for sustainable heating and power generation, utilising its international subsurface expertise and drawing on FWM’s experience in well engineering and project management.
Karl Farrow, CeraPhi CEO, said CeraPhi’s delivery and execution process is different to conventional geothermal approach, and is geared for modular and scalable projects for power, heating and cooling of cities, the repurposing of oil and gas wells and and e-mobility, among other uses.
“Our CeraPhiWell uses a single well in a closed loop environment, reducing risk and lowering costs while increasing efficiency in the development of deep geothermal systems” Mr Farrow said. “Our technology and processes are about multiple scalable projects and commerciality. As the first fully integrated geothermal delivery company in the UK, we are excited about what s ahead. Geothermal is the only true baseload energ

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. and its largest shareholder, Total SE, have announced a 50/50 joint venture to develop carbon-negative renewable natural gas (RNG) production facilities in the United States, as well as credit support to build additional downstream RNG fueling infrastructure. The initial firm commitment is $100 million and can increase to $400 million as development opportunities progress. Since Clean Energy and Total will be providing the equity portion of the investments, the actual amount of capital invested in RNG projects may be higher than $400 million depending on the amount of leverage that is deployed. In addition, Total will be providing credit support for Clean Energy development in the RNG value chain, including $45 million for contracted RNG fueling infrastructure.
