DHAKA, May 19, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said the government has been encouraging power generation from renewable sources.
“It is necessary to innovate such a technology that would occupy less land to generate solar power,” he said while witnessing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing as the chief guest at a virtual plat form for 100-MW solar power plant at Sonagazi, Fenni.
The state minister said it is necessary to introduce mixed fuel in power generation, adding, “Developed countries have been working with hydrogen for transforming as energy. It’s time to rethink ocean energy, wind power and rooftop solar.”

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today said it is now demand of time to make energy storage management as sustainable.
“Applications of energy storage will increase as much as the increase of the use of renewable energy and electric vehicles. Price of energy storage applications should be affordable,” he said.
Nasrul was addressing a webinar on Storage Applications in Bangladesh Power System arranged by ‘Energy and Power’ magazine.
He said peak, off-peak hour, affordable energy and storage management should be fixed in Bangladesh perspectives.
