However, the pace of recovery is yet uncertain, said its president and chief executive officer Datuk Baharin Din.
Baharin, who assumed the role at the helm on March 1, said that due to the setbacks in 2020, the utility group had suggested an extension of the Regulatory Period 2 (RP2) for a year.
“This was approved by the Government, hence RP2 will be effective until end-2021.
“We have submitted our proposal for RP3 to ensure its relevancy to the new normal that has been shaped by the pandemic, ” he said in TNB’s 2020 Annual Report.

KUALA LUMPUR (March 12): The Energy Commission has announced the list of 30 shortlisted bidders of the Large Scale Solar @ MEnTARI (LSS4), totalling 823.06MW out of the offered 1,000MW.
This comprises 20 bidders covering 323.06MW under Package P1 at between 10MW and below 30MW, as well as 10 bidders across 500MW under Package P2 between 30MW and 50MW.
The shortlisted bids for Package 1 ranged between 18.5 sen/kWh and 24.81 sen/kWh. Meanwhile for Package 2, the bids ranged between 17.68 sen/kWh and 19.7 sen/kWh.

Kuala Lumpur-listed Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) is expanding its international renewable energy (RE) footprint into Southeast Asia with its foray into Vietnam by buying a stake in a 21.6MW project.
KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 4 (Bernama): To capture the rapid growth in the Vietnam renewable energy (RE) market, Tenaga Nasional Bhd’s (TNB) wholly-owned subsidiary, TNB Renewables Sdn Bhd, will collaborate with Singapore’s Sunseap Group in a 21.6MW project comprising five rooftop solar plants in Vietnam.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, TNB said it will also acquire a 39 per cent stake in the project from Sunseap Group.
It said the acquisition marked an important milestone for TNB as it expands its international renewable energy footprint into South East Asia. Prior to this acquisition, TNB’s global presence in renewable energy consists of a total portfolio of 2,732.3MW in Malaysia (including 2,536.1MW of large hydro) and 666MW across the UK, Turkey and India comprising mainly solar, wind and hydro energy generation assets.
