It was the first sign of intelligent life outside Earth, according to Loeb.
Scientists at a Hawaiian observatory saw an object soaring through our inner solar system, moving so quickly that it could only have been from another star, according to the marketing summary for the Houghton Mifflin Harcourt book, Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth.
The object wasn t a natural occurrence, but perhaps a bit of space junk, according to Loeb, a professor of science with a doctorate in physics. There was only one conceivable explanation: the object was a piece of advanced technology created by a distant alien civilization, according to HMH.

A Harvard professor believes that we were visited by an alien object in 2017. In his upcoming book,
Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth, theoretical physicist Avi Loeb lays out his theory about a peculiar-shaped object that entered our solar system several years ago. The interstellar object–named Oumuamua – was first observed through the Pan-STARRS telescope at Hawaii s Haleakala Observatory in 2017. Researchers determined that it had passed through the ecliptic plane on September 6 from the direction of Vega, a star in the Lyra constellation that is about 25 light-years away from our planet.
Harvard professor says ‘discarded alien tech’ known as ‘Oumuamua’ flew past Earth in 2017

A HARVARD professor claims an odd space object to enter the solar system is not another rock formation but rather, evidence of intelligent life outside the earth.
Avi Loeb, Harvard’s Department of Astronomy chair, believes aliens dropped some space garbage over earth s atmosphere in 2017, and it s proof that life beyond humans exists.

Loeb s upcoming book, Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth, lays out a case for why a recent object that flew into our solar system might be proof that life outside exists.
