RIYADH The Saudi Ministry of Culture has signed a memorandum of joint cooperation with the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen in response to the Yemeni government s request to help preserve the country s cultural heritage, support cultural efforts in Yemen, and protect its vulnerable monuments.
As part of the agreement, the Saudi government will work in collaboration with relevant organizations and in coordination with the Yemeni government and the local authority to support and preserve Yemeni heritage and monuments. This is in addition to rehabilitating and developing Yemeni capabilities in the cultural field to advance the cultural, economic, and social movements in Yemen.

The agreement was signed virtually on Monday by Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Bin Farhan, Minister of Culture, and Ambassador Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Jaber, general supervisor of the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY).

Protection of rights of persons with
disabilities a top priority, says HRC December 24, 2020

RIYADH Saudi Arabia’s Human Rights Commission (HRC) said on Wednesday that people with disabilities are on the top of its priorities and it continues to take a number of measures, including holding training and awareness programs, to ensure the protection of human rights, especially the most vulnerable groups.
The commission also said it is preparing a training program that will be launched next month to train specialists who can identify sexual harassment of persons with disabilities, especially children.
The training program aims to enhance the capabilities of specialists and will shed light on the phenomenon of sexual harassment of persons with disabilities and research new mechanisms to confront and address it.

Three ministers from Yemen’s newly formed power-sharing government asserted the importance of complementary work achieved by state institutions in guaranteeing success of the endeavors of their respective ministries.
Public Works and Highways Minister Maneh bin Yammine, Health and Population Minister Qasim Buhaibeh, and Industry and Trade Minister Muhammad Al-Ashwal have said that they look forward to returning to the interim capital, Aden, where they will work for all Yemenis and rebuild the country’s state institutions.
