Mumbai receives 1st consignment of Covishield vaccine
The first consignment of the Covishield vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India reached Mumbai on Wednesday around 5:30 am.

Mumbai received its 1st consignment of the Covishield vaccine on Wednesday at around 5:30 am. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has received a total of 1,39,500 doses of Covishield vaccine manufactured by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India.
The BMC had registered 1.30 lakh healthcare workers in the 1st phase of the drive and it has stored 9,500 extra viles.
Serum Institute vaccines were being transported to Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Guwahati, Shillong, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Vijayawada, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Chandigarh, Union aviation minister Hardeep Singh Puri tweeted.
