These updates are republished press releases and communications from members of the Science|Business Network Professor Dan Kilper appointed new Director of CONNECT Centre at Trinity College Dublin Professor Dan Kilper has been appointed as Director of CONNECT – the world leading Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) Research Centre for Future Networks and Communications, hosted by Trinity College Dublin. Professor Kilper will also hold the position of Professor of Future Communication Networks in Trinity’s School of Engineering. Professor Kilper comes to CONNECT from the University of Arizona where he held a research professorship in the College of Optical Sciences, and a joint appointment in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He also holds an adjunct faculty position in the Data Science Institute at Columbia University, where he is a co-PI on the COSMOS advanced wireless testbed. Two comprehensive books complete trilogy

Volumes two and three of On Our Own Ground: County Wexford Parish by Parish were officially launched during a live video-conference call hosted by County Librarian Eileen Morrissey last week. The books follow on from the first volume, which was released in 2013, and detail the natural heritage of County Wexford through the centuries with photography, drawings and maps to compliment the detailed text . All 3,000 townlands in the county are featured and, according to Dr Culleton, the aim was to present as much information as possible in a relatively straightforward fashion. My aim was to publish material on the archaeology of Wexford in a manner which ordinary people can understand, he said at the launch. Some of the jargon of archaeology can be very difficult to understand, so I simplified some of it.
