Council officer assaulted on Cleethorpes beach Police have identified a suspect Cleethorpes Beach during Easter weekend. | Photo: James Williams A male environment enforcement officer from North East Lincolnshire Council was the victim of a “totally unacceptable” assault on Cleethorpes beach while issuing a fine to a dog walker. A man was pushed during the disorder incident, involving a number of people, at around 2.30pm on Easter Sunday, April 4 on Cleethorpes’ Central Promenade. Humberside Police have since identified a suspect who will be spoken to in connection with the incident. The council is reminding dog owners that dogs are banned from the main beach between Cleethorpes Leisure Centre to Wonderland Groyne between Good Friday and September 30.

Lincolnshire Cookery School is located at Hill Farm in Snelland, north east Lincoln, and will open on Wednesday, April 14. It will be run by Fiona Lucas, who trained as a chef at Selby College in her teens before working her way through the ranks. She later ran her own restaurant and public house, Castle Inn in Caywood, as well as an 18-pitch caravan site, whilst as a single parent with three children.

When Martin Henderson set out from just north of Voxter House on a cold, snowy morning at the end of January, he never expected the generosity of the Shetland public to help him raise so much money. 1 of 14Adverts While the marathon was very much a personal challenge it also an opportunity to kickstart Relay for Life Shetland’s fundraising for 2021. Accompanied by running partner Fiona Shearer, his route south took him past some of Shetland’s most iconic scenery – culminating in Lerwick yards from his house where he was welcomed by a beer and the warm applause of his friends and family.

Bolton s Zainab walks the walk for Cancer Research UK

Zainab Patel A Bolton woman stepped up to the plate last month to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Zainab Patel, 46, decided to take part in the charity’s ‘Walk All Over Cancer’ 2021 fundraiser, which challenged participants to walk 10,000 steps every day throughout the month of March. Zainab, who lost her beloved mother to cancer 10 years ago and has also seen other relatives taken by the disease, successfully completed the challenge with the support of her family. Her amazing efforts have seen her raise more than £650 for the charity, smashing her original target of £500. “It has been my biggest achievement this year,” said Zainab. “It’s something I’m so proud of.”
