Baker pleads not guilty to murder charge

By JANIE SLAVEN Commonwealth Journal May 3, 2021 Samuel Lee Baker The man accused of fatally shooting his father s friend when he tried to intervene in a family argument has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. Samuel Lee Baker, 22, of Bowling Green, is charged with Murder, first-degree Burglary, Convicted Felon in Possession of a Handgun and second-degree Persistent Felony Offender as part of the indictment filed last month. Baker pleaded not guilty when arraigned on April 22 in Pulaski Circuit Court. Baker is also charged with second-degree Fleeing and Evading Police (Motor Vehicle), second-degree Fleeing and Evading Police (On Foot), Reckless Driving, Possession of Marijuana, Suspended License, No Insurance, and Resisting Arrest in Casey County, where he was ultimately arrested following the March 18 shooting.

Author: Ashley Godwin (THV11) Updated: 5:33 PM CDT May 3, 2021 LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas Drag racing, caravanning, drifting, and burnouts are nothing new to Little Rock, but the activity became more popular when the pandemic began.  After lockdowns, the streets became empty, which was a perfect opportunity to take to the roads. Hundreds of people gathered for car meets where people would show off their driving skills by doing donuts and burnouts. Some of the meets were in the streets and some were in parking lots.

Body found of missing doctor in Lake Cumberland

By CARLA SLAVEY Commonwealth Journal May 3, 2021 Dr. Robert Supinski Captain Troy McLin of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday afternoon that the body of Dr. Robert Supinski has been recovered from Lake Cumberland. McLin said that the 66-year-old Supinski was found around 2:30 p.m. The body was recovered by Somerset-Pulaski County Rescue Squad divers after being located by sonar. McLin said the body has been turned over to the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office. Coroner Clyde Strunk confirmed that Supinski’s body was recovered from an area that was around 80-foot deep. The body will be taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville to determine a cause of death, Strunk said.

By CARLA SLAVEY CNHI Kentucky Apr 30, 2021 Apr 30, 2021 SOMERSET — Captain Troy McLin of the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday afternoon that the body of Dr. Robert Supinski has been recovered from Lake Cumberland. McLin said that the 66-year-old Supinski was found around 2:30 p.m. The body was recovered by Somerset-Pulaski County Rescue Squad divers after being located by sonar. McLin said the body has been turned over to the Pulaski County Coroner’s Office. Supinski apparently fell Wednesday afternoon over a 100-foot bluff while using a zero-turn mower on his property. The search was being conducted in the Slate Branch area of Lake Cumberland. Along with the Rescue Squad, McLin said that an organization specializing in water location, Bruce’s Legacy, assisted in the search, as did the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
