Tennessee man charged with murder in 2019 fatal wreck

By Carla Slavey Commonwealth Journal Apr 20, 2021 James Oliver A Tennessee man has been charged with Murder stemming from a December 2019 fatal wreck that took place on Ky. 461. James Ethan Oliver, 21 of Sparta in White County, Tenn., was arrested in Sparta on April 5. He waived extradition and was transported to the Pulaski County Detention Center last Friday. Oliver has been charged with Murder, three counts of first-degree Assault, first-degree Wanton Endangerment and first-degree Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. The wreck took place on December 13, 2019 around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ky. 461 and Old Mount Vernon Road.

Alert issued for Ferguson man

Dana Watkins The Pulaski County Sheriff s Office is seeking the public s help in finding a local man who went missing over the weekend. Dana Watkins, 62, was last seen around 11:30 a.m. Friday morning. He left from McGuire Street in Ferguson in a 1995 Suzuki Samurai, bearing KY registration plate 355-PRM. The vehicle has after-market black wheels with oversized tires and has off-road capabilities. The driver and passenger doors have been removed. Watkins himself is described as 5 2 and weighing approximately 228 pounds, with graying hair and beard/mustache. PCSO says it s unknown what clothing he was wearing at the time of his disappearance but Watkins typically wears glasses with transitional lenses.

One person flown out after Friday afternoon wreck

PCSO The driver of this vehicle needed to be extricated after being in a rollover accident Friday afternoon. Officials say he was flown to the UK Medical Center.  SRT The driver of a truck had to be extricated and flown to Lexington after being in a rollover accident that took place Friday afternoon on Barnesburg Road. According to Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office Captain Troy McLin, the driver of the vehicle was Charlie Thomas Wesley, 50, of Somerset.

This year s event will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Rocky Hollow Athletic Center in Somerset. File During the era of COVID-19, many things have been put on hold. Child abuse is not one of them. Raising awareness of the problem is why Broken Piece No More exists. The faith-based non-profit organization is holding an event for this purpose for the fourth straight year, and the message is no less important today than when Pamela Richards-Woodall first started this mission.
