The Sparklight television commercial says ââ¦with reliability and local service you can count onâ. However, for Jasper residents our cable and internet through Sparklight over the past year have been anything but reliable. This area has experienced multiple outages of both cable television and internet service â some lasting for several hours, while some have lasted for several days.
Itâs a problem that has been going on for well over a year, and in just the last 8 days alone, Jasper has experienced several outages, including the most recent being a cable TV outage on both Thursday and Friday.
KJAS News spoke to Sparklight Regional Director Martin Schooley in El Campo on Friday morning. Schooley explained what is causing the problems for Jasper, he promised that cable/internet bills would be credited for the downtime this month, and he also vowed that improvements for this area are coming in about two weeks.

Bradley Joseph Pruitt, who was 45 at the time, is accused of beating Sour Lake officer Bill McKeon, Jr., 61, outside of a convenience store in Sour Lake.
By mid-morning Wednesday the state had already rested it's case.
The first prosecution witness on the stand Wednesday was a Texas DPS trooper who described finding Pruitt along Highway 326 and taking him into custody the day after the crime.
