Marinette County adds 18 virus cases, Florence a new death | News, Sports, Jobs

Wisconsin COVID-19 data Tuesday showed 18 new confirmed positives in Marinette County. In Florence County, local health officials reported a coronavirus-related death, its first fatal case in months. The person, who was not identified, was between 30 to 60 years old, the Florence County Health Department stated in a news release. No other information was provided to protect the family’s privacy. The FCHD added, “Public health officials strongly encourage all eligible individuals to receive a COVID-19 vaccine.” For the Upper Peninsula, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services’ coronavirus website Tuesday added 51 new confirmed positives: 10 in Marquette County; seven in Delta County; six in Houghton County; five in Baraga County; four in Menominee, Luce and Chippewa counties; three in Dickinson and Schoolcraft counties; two in Iron and Mackinac counties; and one in Ontonagon County. Delta County had the only new death in the region.
