The hospital is in the process of building a new, comprehensive cancer center at its main campus near Mineral Palace Park. The goal of building the new center is to have cancer patients, care teams, and treatments all in one location. "We don't want our patients to worry about where to go for what appointment when they know they have an appointment for their treatment. It's at one location and it is easy to get in and it is easy to get out," Rachael Morris with Parkview said.

Pueblo police seeking public's help in finding 66-year-old woman

Pueblo police are looking for a 66-year-old woman after she disappeared from central Pueblo Wednesday morning. Antonia Trujillo was discharged from a health center at around 3 a.m., where she may have traveled to the intersection between E 4th Street and Glendale Avenue, near downtown Pueblo. Police are urgently trying to locate Trujillo, as they said she has has some medical issues. She was last seen being discharged from the Parkview Health System. Anyone that has seen Trujillo should call the Pueblo Police Department at 719-553-2502, police wrote on Twitter. Nurse among first Pueblo Community College bachelor in nursing grads

On May 14, Pueblo Community College will graduate nine students from its first bachelor of science in nursing program. The degree program came about after the Colorado General Assembly passed legislation in 2018 which allowed community colleges across the state to offer bachelor's degrees in nursing. The bill was in response to the increasing demand for nurses across Colorado and the shortage of bachelor's level nurses in the state. One of the nine graduates of PCC's bachelor's in nursing program, Robert Wright, will be able to use his bachelor's to move up at Parkview Health System where he works as a registered nurse (RN) in the cardio-thoracic surgery department.

The rebranding comes as Parkview has continued to expand over the years to more than just the medical center in downtown Pueblo. "We're not just a medical center anymore, we're not just this one campus," said Parkview CEO Leslie Barnes. "We have clinics that are all over the community, medical office complexes all over the city and we are going to have a new hospital in Pueblo West." The rebranding efforts began in June 2020. "I think it better describes what we do and all the places where we are," Barnes said. "We provide the majority of health care in this community."
