PARK CITY, Utah â Main Street Park City was filled with a familiars sight for those who ski but to some surprise they were on the street and not on the mountain.
Armed with signs that said âNOT ON STRIKE, JUST PRACTICINGâ the Park City Mountain Ski Patrol enlisted the publicâs help in negotiations with their parent company, Vail Resorts.
âWe love this community and we love being in park city and working in park cityâ Lauren Macklin a Line Patroller told FOX13 during an interview, âObviously the ski industry is part of the heart and soul of Park City and I am proud to be a part of that.â

Parkites packed the plaza in April 2013. Kids pushed their way up to the stage to get close to their hometown hero. There had been a time not so many years prior that Ted Ligety would have been in that crowd himself. Instead, he was the one stepping onto the stage with that ever-present humble Ted smile.
Just a few months earlier, Ligety quieted thousands of screaming Austrian fans, winning three gold medals at the World Championships. It put his name alongside those of Austrian Toni Sailer, Frenchman Jean-Claude Kill and Norway’s Stein Eriksen pretty nice company!.

Four skiers are dead after an avalanche Saturday in Utah s Salt Lake Valley, authorities said.
The avalanche occurred in a backcountry region of Millcreek Canyon. Eight skiers were in the area of Wilson Basin, which is not affiliated with any ski resorts, when they triggered the avalanche, Sgt. Melody Cutler of Millcreek s Unified Police Department said.
