A Boonville man has had his felony charges reduced after a court proceeding last year. A probable-cause statement says Darryl Kelley was involved in a fight at the Boonville Correctional Center, and after it was stopped by a correction officer, Kelley picked up a broom and broke the handle of the room against the kiosk machine. Kelley then went to the bathroom area where other offenders involved in a fight were being held awaiting additional staff to assist with the situation. Kelley pushed one of the other correction officers while holding the broom handle in his hands in a threatening manner. Once other staff arrived, Kelley was escorted outside of the housing unit, where he resisted being put in hand restraints to be escorted to the segregation unit.
