San Antonio police investigate two unrelated homicides on Southwest Side

The San Antonio Police Department reported two homicides on the Southwest side Friday night.
The first occurred at 9:50 p.m. along the 800 block of W. Baetz Boulevard. A man walked into a home and shot the victim, an unidentified man in his 30s or 40s, officials said.
The killer then fled east along Baetz Boulevard on foot, officials said.
An officer spotted a man with a gun several blocks away; there was evidence he was involved in the shooting, police said.
Raymond Hernandez, 28, was taken into custody and charged with first degree murder and felon in possession of a firearm.

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday released the name of a man who was run over by his 18-wheeler.
The victim was identified as Jose Luis Villarreal Jr., 46.
A Bexar County Sheriff’s Office sergeant said Villarreal was filling a tire on the big rig with air when the truck started rolling and ran him over around 9 a.m. Monday in the 12900 block of Highway 90.

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office on Monday released the names of three people believed to be the victims and a suspect in a double murder-suicide.
Police found the bodies of two men and a woman after they were called to a home in the 5200 block of Ebony late Thursday on the city’s Northwest Side for a welfare check.
The victims are identified as George Lee Hines, 69, who died of a gunshot wound to the head, and Magda Elva Hines, 58, who died of gunshot wounds.
