The Bexar County Medical Examiner confirmed the death of the 65-year-old Tuesday morning.
San Antonio police say they found the man, Juan Apolinar Jr., face down in a pool of blood at a picnic table, shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday.
Monday morning, they were back out at the scene looking for evidence as well as any possible witnesses.
The area of the park where Apolinar Jr. was found is along the water, off the beaten path, and did not appear to have many passersby.

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner has identified two people killed in two shootings at a South Side home last week.
Brian Deleon, 36, the shooting suspect, and Bobby Borrego, 49, died from gunshot wounds they sustained from the incident, according to the ME’s Office.
The shootings happened at a residence in the 400 block of Clutter Avenue.
Authorities said the homeowner, Borrego, and a friend were in the shed together when the shooter drove up, went to the shed and started firing, killing Borrego. The friend was able to escape.

SAN ANTONIO – The family of Samuel Reyes, a man who called 911 fearing that someone was coming to get him before his disappearance, say his body was identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.
In a lengthy post on Saturday, the mother of Reyes, Lanay Cohen, confirmed the 31-year-old’s death. Cohen said his body was found in an area of land just over three miles from his home.

A TMI Episcopal student who was found unresponsive at his home died Thursday, school officials said.
On Monday, Jackson Mohr, 13, was discovered without a pulse by his parents, according to TMI.
CPR was performed, and Jackson was rushed to pediatric intensive care at Methodist Children’s Hospital where he was placed on a ventilator, officials said.
His pulse returned, but he remained unresponsive, TMI officials said, noting that Jackson was without oxygen for some time.
On Thursday, Jackson was pronounced dead, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office. A cause of death was not yet determined. Officials said his COVID-19 test was negative.

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim killed in a shooting on the South Side on Tuesday as 49-year-old Bobby Borrego.
Borrego was killed before officers arrived at a home in the 400 block Clutter Avenue and shot and killed the gunman, who remains to be identified.
Krystal Vela, Borrego’s girlfriend, said she was inside her garage on Tuesday afternoon when she heard a gunshot go off in the backyard, a sound she initially thought was a compressor.
