The cause of death for John Gilbert Getty, the grandson of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty, has been revealed two months after his death at the age of 52.
Getty died of cardiomyopathy and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, complicated by fentanyl toxicity, the Bexar County Medical Examiner s Office in Texas confirms to PEOPLE.
The office said the manner of death is accidental, and the news was first reported by TMZ.
Getty s death in San Antonio on Nov. 20 was confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE by his composer father Gordon Getty.

The Bexar County Medical Examiner has identified a man who was killed while sitting in a parked car on an East Side road Friday night.
Chris Cooper, 30, suffered numerous gunshot wounds after multiple men shot at the vehicle. A 43-year-old man in the driver s seat was also injured.
San Antonio police said the two men were parked at the 1900 block of Hays Street around 9 p.m. when a vehicle pulled up beside them. The suspects got out and started firing, then fled from the scene in their vehicle.

SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Medical Examiner has identified a man that was killed in an East Side shooting late last week.
Chris Cooper, 30, was shot several times and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The incident happened around 9 p.m., Friday, in the 1900 block of Hays Street.
Officers were called to the scene for a shooting in progress and when they arrived, they found a vehicle that had been shot at multiple times.
