Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and several other leaders wished the former Prime Minister a speedy recovery. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday cancelled his visit to India, due on April 25-26, “in view of the prevailing COVID situation”, both governments announced. The decision was taken after weeks of discussions over how to proceed with the visit despite the pandemic, and last week officials had said he would cut short the duration and limit his travel to Delhi. With no let-up in the surge of cases in India, however, officials in London and Delhi decided by “mutual agreement” to call off the trip.

New Delhi, April 19 : Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to the AIIMS for treatment after testing Covid positive on Monday.
He has been admitted to the Trauma Centre, said sources.
Wishes came in as the news spread. Dear Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji, Wishing you a speedy recovery. India needs your guidance and advice in this difficult time, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi tweeted.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in a tweet, said: Just got the news that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Ji has tested positive for COVID. Sir, our thoughts and prayers for a speedy and full recovery.
The former Prime Minister was having fever since Sunday evening.
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Monday after testing positive for COVID-19.
“Wishing our former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji good health and a speedy recovery,” tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
A source close to 88-year-old Dr Singh informed
The Hindu that he has admitted to the AIIMS trauma centre for monitoring and further treatment and his condition is reported to be stable. He had taken both the doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The former Prime Minister, who had been having a mild fever since Sunday night, tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday morning.
