Bedford County Chocolate Walk
Downtown Bedford Inc.’s 4th annual Chocolate Walk event will kickoff on Saturday.
The event is designed to get residents to support local small businesses in the community and will be held every Saturday for the next four weeks, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Participating businesses will offer chocolate themed giveaways and experiences, and whoever finds a golden ticket will receive a half-pound of free chocolate, from Bedford Candies, every month for the remainder of the year.
Tickets are already sold out for Saturday but are still available for the remaining three weekends.
Tickets cost $20 and 100 tickets are available per weekend.

Like other special occasions, Valentine’s Day will be a bit different during the coronavirus pandemic.
Just more than half 52% of U.S. adults plan to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year, spending a total of $21.8 billion, according to the annual survey released today by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics.
“There is no question the pandemic has disrupted many aspects of Americans’ daily interactions and activities,” said NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay in a statement. “However, there remains a special significance around Valentine’s Day, and consumers are committed to celebrating friends and loved ones, even if that means having to alter those traditional holiday celebrations.”
After months of canceled events and fundraisers for Downtown Bedford Inc., the organization is hoping its upcoming Chocolate Walk will be a nice treat for the public.
Stacey Gould, manager of DBI, said a series of socially distanced Chocolate Walks are scheduled for the weekends of Feb. 20 and 27, and March 6 and 13.
âTheyâre in between Valentineâs Day and Easter,â she said. âItâs usually a slow time of the year. I think a lot of people are looking for something to do.â
In past years the Chocolate Walk has been held on one weekend in February, but Gould said it will be across four weekends this year to reduce crowd sizes and increase social distancing.
