A 37-year-old Joliet, Illinois, woman is facing a felony charge in Pettis County.
According to a report from the Sedalia Police Department detective, on December 10, 2020, a Walmart asset-protection employee reported four females entered the store and pushed two separate carts of merchandise outside the store. He also reported a backpack was stolen that concealed several other items. They put the items- valued at more than $340 (items that only could be identified by watching surveillance video)- into a Toyota Camry that was traced to be owned by Devetta L. White, who had been banned from Walmart in 2012 for stealing from a store in Romeoville, Illinois.
The jury trial has been cancelled in the case of a Kansas City, Kansas man who is facing felony charges including murder and kidnapping.
On February 22, Sedalia Police officers responded to the 700 block of East 17th Street where they found Robert G. Fox lying in the street, dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.
After an investigation, detectives were able to establish a motive and identify a suspect vehicle that later led authorities to a subject who lived in the Kansas City, Kansas, area. Authorities tracked the suspect vehicle to Sedalia prior to the homicide and back to the KCK area, and 27-year-old Daniel Fernandez was charged.
