The City of Saskatoon is considering expanding the tax breaks available to affordable housing developers to include “mixed-market” projects.
The incentive would also apply to four projects currently under construction that were previously denied access to tax abatements for a total of $203,734 in municipal and provincial taxes over five years.

Lynne Lacroix, the city’s general manager of community services, said the change would bring the city into line with the National Affordable Housing Corp. (NAHC), which is prioritizing such developments.
