At several places in Madhya Pradesh, petrol retailed at a price higher than Rs 100 a litre
BHOPAL: Petrol prices in Madhya Pradesh are the highest in India, as per the nationwide statistics released by the Petrol Pump Owners Association of MP on Sunday.
The average price of petrol in MP on February 26 was Rs 98.96 highest in the country. The average price of fuel in some neighbouring states has not even touched the Rs 90-mark. For example, in Uttar Pradesh petrol was sold at an average of Rs 89.13 per litre, in Chhattisgarh the price was Rs 89.39, in Gujarat it was Rs88.88, said the president of the association, Ajay Singh. Petrol was sold at Rs76.54 in the Andamans.
Petrol pump owners call off strike in Sylhet The New Nation

The strike called by the Petrol pump owners in Sylhet has been called off on Saturday getting assurance from the deputy commissioner.
Jobayer Ahmed Chowdhury, President of the Sylhet divisional committee of the Bangladesh Petroleum Dealers, Distributors Agents and Petrol Pump Owners Association, confirmed the matter.
He said, deputy commissioner has assured that he will solve the local problems himself. He would discuss the countrywide demands with the proper authorities.
Incidentally, the Bangladesh Petroleum Dealers, Distributors, Agents and Petrol Pump Owners Association went on strike from December 26 after the mobile court fined them.
