Powell s WWE Raw Hit List: Drew McIntyre vs Kofi Kingston for a shot at the WWE Championship, Charlotte Flair vs Asuka, Riddle vs Xavier Woods, Natalya and Tamina vs Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax for the WWE Women s Tag Team Titles, Shelton Benjamin vs Cedric Alexander

WWE Raw Hits Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston for a shot at the WWE Championship: A strong match with a cheap finish designed to set up next week’s rematch. Perhaps I’m reading too much into this, but it struck me as odd that the stipulation for next week’s match is that Bobby Lashley and MVP will be suspended without pay for thirty days if they interfere. I’m surprised there wasn’t an added stipulation that Lashley would actually be stripped of the championship. My official guess is that we get a no nonsense match between McIntyre and Kingston next week, but I can’t rule out the possibility that they intend to write out MVP temporarily so that he can undergo surgery on his injured knee. Either way, McIntyre vs. Kingston was highly entertaining and I am looking forward to their rematch.

Commentators: Beth Phoenix, Wade Barrett, Vic Joseph It’s time for a big main event with the North American Title being defended inside a cage. Johnny Gargano has to defend against Bronson Reed, which could set up a heck of a Tsunami to crush Gargano for good. That could be quite the match as you have two talented people in there, plus a lot of other things on the show. Let’s get to it. We open with a look at the cage match. Toni Storm vs. Zoey Stark Stark starts fast and drives her into the corner to hammer away, setting up a springboard missile dropkick. They head outside with Storm getting knocked around until she manages to whip her into the steps. The running hip attack crushes Stark against the steps and Stark barely beats the count. The chinlock doesn’t last long so Storm boots her down for two.

Commentators: Adnan Virk, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re done with Wrestlemania Backlash, where the Raw side featured Wrestlemania rematches with Braun Strowman and Charlotte thrown in, plus Miz and John Morrison being devoured by zombies. I’m going to assume things will pick up from here, but we are now about a month away from Hell in a Cell, meaning it could be rematches a go-go. Let’s get to it. A group of women escort Bobby Lashley into the arena, where MVP handles the introduction. After a look back at last night’s triple threat match, MVP talks about Braun Strowman having broken ribs and Drew McIntyre not being able to get out of bed. On top of that, Lashley did all of that with a bad hand. Lashley has insisted on working tonight so the open challenge (erg) is on. Cue Drew McIntyre to say he accepts but MVP says McIntyre cut him off: the challenge was to anyone OTHER than McIntyre and Strowman. McIntyre knocks Lashley out to the floor, where MVP has to hold him back
